DCAcademy Empower Your Talent – Leadership

At this year’s DCAcademy Empower Your Talent – Leadership, young researchers will get tools to develop their leadership skills, learn to identify different leadership styles and how to apply these in within their research career. The participants will learn how to motivate and engage co-workers, handle conflicts and get a deeper understanding of how to develop a successful team.

At the course you will get the opportunity to learn from. and discuss with, Birgitte Nauntofte Chairman of The Board of Directors-elect and former Head Coach, manager and motivational expert Troels Bech.

The DCAcademy course “Empower your talent” is an annual two-day workshop/course focusing on talent and career development of young researchers. The annual topic is decided in collaboration with the DCAcademy Young Advisory Board. Among previous topics are:

• Career planning
• Entrepreneurship

The course offers a mix of lectures, group work; inspirational talks and exercises as well as networking activities.

A student who has met the objectives of the course will intendedly be able to:

1. Distinguish and define different leadership styles and be able to identify personal leadership styles
2. Point out different ways to motivate collaboration partners and be able to choose the suitable form depending on the situation
3. Analyze and handle conflicts in regard to the steps, factors and aspects in a conflict
4. Understand the dynamics in a team how to develop the team
5. Evaluate their leadership styles and in which direction to develop
