Join the workshop on 3 April 2025 from 9:00 to 12:00 at the Holst Auditorium, Panum, UCPH, followed by an optional lunch in the canteen. The workshop is organised by BRIDGE but invites researchers from other academies for a real life networking experience! Seats are allocated on a first come, first served basis.

Studies of networking unambiguously show that having a large and active network is one of the most direct paths to success. Individuals who network generally have steeper career curves, more exciting assignments, higher salaries, and yes, even better life quality than those who don’t. Ironically, other research studies show that many people tend to avoid networking because they find it trivial, intrusive, and awkward.

In this workshop, Heidi Jønch-Clausen, PhD in rhetoric, and leadership and communication expert at EY, will share some concrete rhetorical tools to make the art of networking easier. She will lead you through disciplines such as the simple and memorable self-presentation, the open and inviting body language, and the important, energizing small talk. She will also touch upon strategies for networking and LinkedIn.

The workshop will be a mix of theory and practice, and you should be prepared to actively participate. It is a great opportunity for networking in real life while learning how to do it more efficiently!
