Christmas greetings from DCAcademy Director - Christian Aalkjær

DCAcademy’s second year is coming to an end. Looking back, it has been a great year and we thank every one of you for engaging with us and our events.

DCAcademy’s second year is coming to an end. Looking back, it has been a great year and we thank every one of you for engaging with us and our events. Altogether 417 participants joined our events in 2022.

One highlight was our summer meeting with 150 participants. We were especially thrilled to see so many clinical and basic researchers together and we will repeat the successful outline of the meeting in 2023. We hope to see you all next year - mark your calendar 15-17 June for our Summer Meeting in 2023.

This summer we also had the joy of welcoming our second group of grant recipients to the DCAcademy. We are happy to see how easily our grant recipients become connected and enjoy the network which they have become part of. This includes peer-mentoring networks which we have successfully established. A third call is realized in 2023 and we look forward to receiving applications with deadline 3 February.

A closer interaction with the two other academies (Danish Diabetes and Endocrine Academy & Danish Data Science Academy) will also be on the agenda for next year. This will include co-organized events and cross-academy PhD scholarships. The first call together with the Danish Diabetes and Endocrine Academy has opened and three scholarships will be granted; deadline 7 February.

Winter is here. I hope you have enjoyed, on occasion, a white and cold December. Our winter meeting next year will also be at a snowy destination, that is Isaberg in Sweden. Good scientific talks and fruitful workshops will be on the agenda.

Lastly, we wish everyone a merry Christmas and a happy New Year. We look forward to seeing you in 2023.

Best wishes on behalf of the DCAcademy Secretariat - Christian Aalkjær.
