Course 1 - format and outcome

This course is the first of two independent modules exploring the emerging field of regenerative medicine in both basic and clinical research. With a focus on the cardiovascular, diabetes and endocrine areas, this first module will give you knowledge about different regenerative animal models such as axolotl, salamander and zebrafish, as well as stem cells and stem cell treatment. Through a combination of lectures and exercises you will enhance both your knowledge and skills.

The course combines lectures from leading experts, hands-on laboratory sessions, and interactive workshops to provide a comprehensive learning experience. Participants will engage in collaborative projects, fostering a deeper understanding of how regenerative medicine can be applied to cardiovascular and endocrine health. Both academic and industry perspectives will be brought to light.

Course 2

The second module (April 2025) will focus on clinical perspectives and organ specific stem cell treatment.

Programme

You can find the preliminary programme here.

Course highlights

  • Regenerative Animals: An exploration of animal models used in regenerative medicine, highlighting their unique regenerative capabilities
  • Comparative Zoophysiology: Study of physiological processes across different animal species to understand the mechanisms of regeneration
  • Stem Cells: In-depth lectures on various stem cell types, their properties, and their roles in tissue regeneration

Who can attend?

PhD-students and Postdoctoral Fellows.

Organisers

The course is a collaborative effort between the Danish Cardiovascular Academy and the Danish Diabetes and Endocrine Academy.
